Women’s Shelter to host ‘Mothers & Daughters’ conference June 11
The Women’s Shelter of South Texas will be hosting a free conference for mothers and daughters Friday, June 11 from 4 p m. to 8:30 p m. at First Baptist Church, Kingsville, located at 312 W. King Avenue.
This one evening conference will foster dynamic motherdaughter relationships while giving girls and women the tools to be powerful women in today’s society.
Workshops will be held on keeping a healthy body image, staying safe using social media, expressing yourself creatively, talking about the tough stuff with someone you trust, sexting, and learning about teen dating violence.

Girls attending this conference will be able to identify healthy versus unhealthy relationships and take actions that will work towards creating violence free lives.
Mothers and mentors will gain the tools to communicate with girls and the ability to assist and support these young women as they are confronted with violence in their lives.
Only limited seating is available so those who are interested are encouraged to make your reservations now.
Registration forms can be found at www. thewomensshelter.org and reservations received after June 7 will result in a $10 registration fee at the door.
