Ditto!
Editor,

I say Ditto! to every single word written by this loyal, kindhearted, intelligent and proud young man in defense of his parents, Seth Crocker. If these people are tasteless and hateful as Mr. Havner says, how could they have raised such an intelligent and respectful son?

I am one of many people in this community that know this couple, Vern and Terese Crocker. I have known them since I moved to this community over 40 years ago. I have never in all of these years heard any negative words or comments directed at this young couple. They are an exemplary, God fearing family, ready to extend a helping hand to whomever is in need. This man, (Mr. Havner) is new to our small community and does not and has not taken the time to know the united, down to earth, hard working, country people that live here and have lived here for centuries, (his mistake, his loss).

This little community is like family. We love each other, but, like family, there are times that we may not like each other. We look out for one another; we help each other in times of need; we rag on each other at one time or another, but we don’t want an outsider coming here and telling us what to do or how to do it. In all of the years I have lived in this community, I have never seen or experienced such turmoil and monopolizing by one individual (namely, Ernest Havner, Riviera ISD Superintendent).

To quote Seth Crocker, Mr. Havner, “If you have any dignity, resign your position, pack your bags, and get out of our town!
