Vela Dental Center opens new office

The Vela Dental Center Kingsville has expanded its offices to another location to serve their patients. It has been almost a year since the Vela Dental Center Kingsville came here. Their office was located at 223 E. Santa Gertrudis.
They are expanding their office with a revitalization and expansion project on 14th St. and East Henrietta.
Their new office, located at 1015 E. Henrietta, at 14th Street, opened this week, was formerly the vacant WIC building.
Their dental services include cleanings, gum treatments, veneers, bridges, partials, dentures, fillings, root canals, braces, implants and extractions (also wisdom teeth). The Vela Dental Center accepts Medicaid, chip, and insurance.

“Our main goal is to take care of people in this area,” said Dr. Ben Vela, one of the dentists. “We are always accepting new patients and grateful for having been accepted in the community.”
They have patients from all walks of life and have high standard of care, according to Dr. Ben Vela.
Their new location will allow them to increase from four dental chairs to 10 dental chairs with more dentists available.
Working at the Vela Dental Kingsville office will be Dr. Ben Vela, DDS, his father Dr. Rene Vela, DDS, PA, Amy Vela, DDS, Jason Vasquez, DDS and Anthony W. Flores, DDS.
“With almost triple the rooms available for treatment we will now be able to meet the needs of the entire Kingsville and South Texas community without having to travel to Corpus Christi for services,” said Dr. Ben Vela.
According to him, Vela Dental Kingsville is always accepting new patients and services are often available either the same day or within 24 hours and the office accepts walk-ins.
“Because of our large capacity, we can see people who have busy schedules and can fit them within 24 hours,” said Dr. Ben Vela.
Dr. Ben Vela stated discounted fees are available to large employers like NAS Kingsville, Texas A&M University Kingsville and Celanese.
His father, Dr. Rene Vela and himself, purchased the property from former Kingsville resident Leo Perez. Perez, the former owner of Leo’s Pharmacy, lives in Corpus Christi. First Cash Pawn is now located in the previous Leo Pharmacy building.
“We have a large and long term commitment to Kingsville with almost a half million dollar investment.” said Dr. Rene Vela.
The Vela Dental Centers began in 1984 with Dr. Rene Vela in Corpus Christi. His son, Dr. Ben Vela, joined his father’s dental practice at Vela Dental Crosstown.
In June 2009, the father and son team added a third office taking over Dr. J.V. Mendez and were now able to serve the surrounding South Texas community with Vela Dental Kingsville.
Vela Dental Cemter Kingsville opened this week and a grand opening is planned at noon on June 10. The public is invited to attend.
