Albert Rene Cavazos
Albert Rene Cavazos is announcing his candidacy for Kleberg County Constable Pct. 1 as a Democratic candidate in the Nov. 2 general election.
Cavazos moved to Kingsville in August of 2002 to begin his employment with the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office, where he is currently employed.
Since his employment with the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office, he has been assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Office in Corpus Christi as a Task Force Officer, and on the Special Response Team.
Cavazos has been a certified Peace Office since 1998.
He attended the University of North Texas Police Academy and currently holds an Advanced Peace Officer’s Certificate with 12 years of experience.
Cavazos holds the following certifications: an Advanced Peace Officer’s, Field Training Officer (FTO), Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Practitioner (SFST) for enforcing DWIs, 72-hour of Basic Narcotics School instructed by D.E.A., and A.L.E.R.T. – Rapid Response to Active Shooter regarding shooters in schools.
During his time at the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office, Cavazos has assisted in serving court ordered civil process papers, such as divorces, writs of repossession, and delinquent tax notices.
Prior to coming to Kingsville, Cavazos was employed with the Cameron County Constables Office Pct. 6 for two years.
He reached the rank of Patrol Sergeant.
“If elected, I feel my experience and current knowledge of the Kleberg County Pct. 1 area will allow me to serve the community to the fullest,” the Democratic candidate said.
“I will provide 24/7 assistance to the citizens of Pct. 1 with great pride and admiration,” he said.
“I will clean up (illegal dumping) in Pct. 1 and assist the families to the best of my ability, and address truancy to the fullest,” Cavazos said.
