FLAIR department installs new officers for next two years

The FLAIR Department of the Kingsville Women’s Club recently installed new officers who will be serving two-year terms.
Elaine Wilde, of Corpus Christi past president of the TFWC-South Texas District, conducted the ceremony on Tuesday, May 19 at the Helen Kleberg Community Center.
Newly installed were Sandy Chisholm, chairman; Eleanor McCusker, 1st vice chairman; Karen Carr, 2nd vice chairman; Brenda Lukefahr, secretary; Melba Gafford, treasurer; and Judy Tilden, reporter/historian.
Their first order of business was to set the schedule of activities for the upcoming calendar year.
From its inception in 1972, the FLAIR Department has described its members as “busy.”

The ladies of FLAIR – Friendship, Love, Awareness, Interest, Responsibility – have many activities going at any given time to help achieve these five goals. The first sponsored event will be a Summertime Bunko Party to raise funds for The Village of Hope in Ghana, South Africa.
Funds raised will help send one child to school in the Village.
The Bunko Party/Dinner will be held Tuesday, June 29 at the Kingsville Women’s Club building on Yoakum and 4th Street. A salad dinner will be at 6:30 p.m., with Bunko games to follow at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10. Door prizes and other gifts will be given out.
