James Luther Walters

James Luther Walters James Luther Walters James Luther Walters, 72, of Kingsville, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, in Kingsville.

He was born on Nov. 30, 1937, in Rio Hondo, to William Everett Walters and Elizabeth Null Walters.

He was employed with Acetyline Oxygen Company in Kingsville for 20 years.

Afterwards, he was a ranch manager for El Rancho Lobo in Benavides for 20 years until his retirement.

Walters was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Verna Mae Walters of Kingsville; son, James Dwane (Amanda) Walters of Benavides; three daughters, Donna Jean (Richard) Rea of Humble, Judy (John) Ray and Sheila (Mark) Grossman, both of Kingsville; sister, Janeell Parker of Bayview; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, June 20 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with the family receiving friends that evening after 6 p.m.

A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 20 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 21 at Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville with Deacon John Joiner officiating.
