FLAIR Department to host Seventh Annual Summer Bunko Party

The FLAIR Department of the Woman’s Club of Kingsville will host their Seventh Annual Summer Bunko Party on Tuesday, June 29 at the Helen Kleberg Community Center, located at 4th Street and Yoakum Street.

Tickets for the event are $10 and will include a salad supper, homemade desserts, Bunko prizes, and door prizes.

The supper is at 6:30 p.m. and play will begin at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from this year’s Bunko Party will be used to support one year of high school for a child at the Village of Hope.

Recently Tim Bennett, former minister at Kingsville Church of Christ, spoke to the FLAIR Department about the mission of Village of Hope, which is located in Ghana, Africa.

This orphanage and school accepts children up to age 16.

They house, clothe, and feed them but more importantly they provide schooling for them.

Funding primarily comes from dedicated Christians in America who “adopt” a child and help provide funds for the child and its schooling.

It takes $600 to provide a year of high school and FLAIR hopes to raise this amount through the Bunko Party and donations from their members.

All members of the community are invited to attend this event.

First time Bunko players are very welcome.

For more information or to make a reservation, call Sue Miller, event chair at 592-2728.
