Gilberto Flores Silvas Sr. Gilberto Flores Silvas Sr., 69, of Bishop, died June 27, 2010.

He was born Aug. 7, 1940, to Gonzalo Silvas and Margarita Flores Silvas.

Silvas retired from Kleberg County Human Services after 15 years.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Saint Martin’s Catholic Church.

Silvas also worked at the South Texas Weed/Seed Store for 25 years.

Survivors include his sons, Gilberto Silvas Jr. (Delia) of Corpus Christi, Daniel Silvas and David Silvas, both of Kingsville; daughters, Belinda S. Arredondo (Heriberto) of Concepcion, and Maria Margarita Silvas of Falfurrias; 10 grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren and sisters, Eloisa Gonzalez of Houston, and Aurora (Leonel) Soliz of Corpus Christi.

A rosary was recited June 29 at the Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. June 30 at the St. Martin’s Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at the Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
