Riviera Telephone Company, Inc. awards six $4,000 scholarships

Six seniors from Riviera Kaufer High School’s 2010 graduating class were recently awarded scholarships with a total value of $4,000 each.
Each recipient is a child of a Riviera Telephone Company (RTC) customer(s) who was selected for academic achievement, good citizenship and high moral character.
Recipients are eligible to receive $1,000 per semester for four semesters of college as long as they maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or higher.
This year’s recipients are Diana Arredondo, Kathleen Best, Lucian Davis, Katelin Stroman, Sydney Tetens and Jessica Yaklin. Diana is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolfo Arredondo who plans to attend Texas A&M University-Kingsville to study Business.
Kathleen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Best and has plans to attend Texas A&M University College Station to study Agribusiness.
Lucian is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Davis with plans to attend Texas Tech University to study Political Science.
Katelin is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Stroman with plans to attend Texas A&M University Corpus Christi in the field of Environmental Science.
Sydney is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hubert with plans to enter the College of Education at Sam Houston State University.
Jessica Yaklin is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Toby Yaklin interested in studying nursing with plans to attend Texas A&M University Kingsville.
Riviera Telephone Company, Inc. congratulates all the 2010 scholarship recipients and wishes them well as they enter college and this new phase of their lives.
Riviera Telephone Company, Inc. encourages all eligible 2011 Riviera High School seniors to apply for a scholarship next year.
Since 1987, RTC has awarded 130 students $385,000 in scholarships.
