Aaron Cardona Kingsville resident Aaron Cardona of Team Wicked 11U (Rio Grande Valley), competed in the AAYBA World Series Baseball Tournament in Flower Mound, TX from July 3 through July 10.

Team Wicked reached the finals of the Platinum Elite North Division and was slated to play either the Dallas Patriots or ProSource A’s in the finals.

Unfortunately, the tournament was cancelled on Saturday, which prevented the team from playing the Finals on Sunday.

Team Wicked was undefeated in Bracket play and compiled wins against the: NTX Bruins, Texas Attack, NTX Titans, Dallas Stars, and the North Texas Longhorns.

The 6 to 5 win in the Semifinals against the Longhorns was featured on www. travelballselect.com as the game of the day.

Aaron was highlighted in the article for going 2-for-3 with 2 RBI’s and scoring the winning run.

He also closed out the game on the mound for the save.
