1 arrest in aggravated assault case
Michael Baker is facing aggravated assault charge. In the early-morning hours of July 13, Kingsville Police officers responded to an injured person at the Kingsville Pointe apartment complex.
They found Christopher Herring, 30, unconscious and with major facial injuries, according to a press release issued by the Kingsville Police Department.
Herring was taken to Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial in Corpus Christi and then transferred to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
Herring had facial fractures, a broken jaw and is missing half of his teeth.
He is in critical condition and is having respiratory problems, according to police reports.
Michael Baker, 37, was at the office of his probation officer in Edna, where he had a scheduled appointment, police said.
He will be held in the Jackson County Jail until extradited to Kleberg County.
The case is still under investigation by the Kingsville Police Department.
