Javelina Athletics Adds Women’s Tennis
Texas A&M-Kingsville Director of Athletics Kenneth Oliver announced that Javelina Athletics will be adding women’s tennis into the fold starting in 2011-12.
“We are anticipating that we will hire a head coach sometime late in the fall,” said Oliver. “This is just another way we are trying to increase the number of opportunities available to female student-athletes.”
The Javelinas will become the 10th school to compete in women’s tennis in the Lone Star Conference joining Abilene Christian, Cameron, Central Oklahoma, East Central, Incarnate Word, Midwestern State, Northeastern State, Southeastern Oklahoma and Tarleton State.
The 2010 conference champion was Abilene Christian.
