KISD to host Pre-K registration July 26-27
The Kingsville Independent School District will be hosting a prekindergarten 3 and prekindergarten 4 round up registration from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on July 26 and 27 at the Administration Building, located on 207 North 3rd Street.
Requirements for prekindergarten 3-year-olds are as follows:
Child must be three on or before Sept. 1 and one of the following:
• Is unable to speak and comprehend the English language;
• Is educationally disadvantaged. (qualify for free or reduced lunch program);
• Is homeless: • Is the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States;
• Is the child of a member of the armed forces who was injured or killed while on active duty; or
• Is or ever has been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family Protective Services following an adversary hearing.
Requirements for prekindergarten 4-year-olds are as follows:
Child must be four on or before Sept. 1 and one of the following
• Is unable to speak and comprehend the English language;
• Is educationally disadvantaged. (qualify for free or reduced lunch program);
• Is homeless:
• Is the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States;
• Is the child of a member of the armed forces who was injured or killed while on active duty; or
• Is or ever has been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family Protective Services following an adversary hearing.
Parents need to bring the following information: child’s birth certificate, family proof of income, child’s social security card, immunization records, and proof of residence.
