Ortiz lists military funding
(U.S. Representative Solomon P. Ortiz (D-Texas), Chairman of the House Armed Services Readiness Subcommittee announced today $21 Million in military construction projects targeted for South Texas, following passage of the Fiscal Year 2011 Veterans and Military Construction Appropriations bill in the House of Representatives.
“I will continue to support the needs of our military personnel and bases in South Texas. Passage of this bill allows for important expansion and maintenance of military installations in the 27th District of Texas,” Ortiz said. “I thank my colleagues for supporting this legislation as we move to create jobs while ensuring our military and their families are taken care of.”

The South Texas projects include:
• $13.4 Million, Aircraft Component Maintenance Shop, Phase 2, Corpus Christi Army Depot
• $5 Million, South Texas Training Center, Texas National Guard
• $ 2.61 Million, Youth Center, Naval Air Station Kingsville.
