Ricardo ISD is asking all parents who plan to enroll their children in the Pre-Kindergarten program to have their children immunized with the current mandated vaccines and show proof of receiving their immunizations, as ordered by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

A copy of the proof of vaccination must be furnished to the school nurse before the first day of school on August 23, 2010.

The following required vaccines are listed below:

Vaccines for Pre-K

Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis – 4-5 doses, one dose must have been received on or after 4th birthday

Polio – 3-4 doses, one dose must have been received on or after 4th birthday

Measles, Mumps, Rubella – 2 doses
Hepatitis B – 3 doses
Varicella – 2 doses
Hepatitis A – 2 doses

Pneumococcal – 4 doses with one or more doses on or after 12 months of age or 1 dose between 24-59 months if unvaccinated or partially vaccinated

Vaccines for Kindergarten

Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis – 4-5 doses, one dose must have been received on or after 4th birthday

Polio – 3-4 doses, one dose must have been received on or after 4th birthday

Measles, Mumps, Rubella – 2 doses
Hepatitis B – 3 doses
Varicella – 2 doses
Hepatitis A – 2 doses
