Food lovers, cooks and chefs are invited to “Get Your Grill On” at the Kleberg County Sheriff’s Department and Kingsville Independent School District’s Supply Our Students Barbecue Cook Off event, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the H.M. King High School parking lot, located at 2210 S. Brahma Blvd. The public is invited.

Cook off entry fee is $150 per team.

Main items to be judged are brisket, fajitas, pork ribs (12 ribs), pinto beans (16 oz. bowl) and an “Open Category.”

There will also be a “People’s Choice” award, where the public gets to choose the winner.

State Senator Eddie Lucio will speak during the cook off event.

The proceeds will go to purchasing school supplies and school uniforms for Kleberg County students.
