TAMUK GROUNDS CREW EARN 12 HOURS TOWARD CERTIFICATION — Twelve members of the grounds crew at Texas A&M University-Kingsville recently completed 12 hours of continuing education credit toward their Master Gardener certification in an effort to better utilize their time and effort when working on campus. They took courses like turf grass maintenance and management, trees and ornamentals, pest management and sports turf. Grounds superintendent Jose Garcia said the grounds and general look of the campus is what people see when they come to visit. “Our crews are learning to make the grounds beautiful and are taking pride in that,” he said.
