Concepcion P. Mireles Concepcion P. Mireles, 83, died on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010.

She was born on Dec. 8, 1926, to Ladislado Perez and Dominga Rangel on Las Cuatitas Ranch outside of Freer.

She was the youngest of 10 children, raised on a ranch, she loved animals, and rode bareback horses all day.

She went to school in Freer, graduated in 1945 from Freer High School, and married Osbaldo Mireles on Aug. 8, 1947.

They had five children, Irma, Osbaldo “Mano”, Ida, Joe, and Oscar “Coca”.

She always attended baseball and football games and was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Freer.

Survivors include two sons, Osbaldo “Mano” (Lucrisa) Mireles Jr. of San Antonio and Jose (Dawn) Mireles of Kingsville; two daughters, Irma (Herman) Hereford of Floresville and Ida (James) Breitler of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Aug. 27.

A rosary was recited Aug. 27 at the Garza Funeral Home in Freer.

A funeral Mass was held Saturday, Aug. 28 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Freer.

Burial followed at Hahl Memorial Cemetery.
