Kingsville Mayor Sam Fugate, Texas A&M University-Kingsville President Steven Tallant, and Scott Gines, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, are all smiles as the TAMUK-Northwest Missouri State game last week. The Texas A&M-Kingsville football team jumped six spots to No. 5 in this week’s D2Football.com poll. The Javelinas (1-0) are coming off a 16-7 win over then No. 1 Northwest Missouri State last Thursday. The Hoggies began the season ranked 13th in the nation, but have continued to move up through the first two weekly polls. The Javelinas are one of four Lone Star Conference South Division teams ranked among the top 11 teams in the nation. Abilene Christian is 4th, West Texas A&M is 10th and Midwestern State is 11th.
