Welcome Home SGT Manuel Salazar Jr. — Sgt. Manuel Salazar returned from a tour of duty in Iraq on Monday, Aug. 30. He is the son of Navy Retired Master Chief Manuel and Graviela Salazar. Sgt. Salazar is attached to the 288th Army Reserve Unit in Corpus Christi, but deployed to Iraq last November with the 812 Army Reserve unit of Harlingen. Sgt. Salazar was deployed with the Victory Base Camp, Camp Liberty and Camp Stryker in Bagdad. Sgt. Salazar was one of three soldiers featured in the Kingsville Record on April 25 accepting a U.S. Flag, which was flown over their Camp in Bagdad and presented to the City of Kingsville.
