Ida Dell Hyden McElroy Ida Dell Hyden McElroy, 86, of Bishop, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 in Corpus Christi.

She was born Nov. 18, 1925 in Big Spring to C.H. Hyden Sr. and Ina Dell McMurry Hyden.

McElroy, a homemaker, was a member of the Bishop Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston McElroy Sr.; parents; and two brothers, C.H. Hyden Jr. and W.M. “Bill” Hyden.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan C. McElroy of Bishop and Linda G. (Jay) Cassidy of Denton; three sons, Preston M. (Linda) McElroy of Corpus Christi, Bobby W. (Connie) McElroy of Portland and Tommy G. McElroy of The Woodlands; sister, Imajean “Suzie” (Al) Burroughs of Arkansas; two brothers, J.D. Hyden of Big Spring and Ross Hyden of Odessa; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation took place Feb. 2 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary.

A graveside service was conducted Feb. 3 at Restland Cemetery in Bishop with Evangelist Manuel Hinojosa, officiating.
