Wings Over South Texas arrives

About 8,000 students from area school districts packed into Javelina Stadium at Texas A&M University- Kingsville on Friday for a pep rally kicking off this year’s Wings Over South Texas event. Students were treated to demonstrations of a number of the acts that will be on display at the air show this weekend, including a jet-powered outhouse, right, and aerial flybys of aircraft. Members of the Blue Angels flight team also spoke to the students about the importance of staying in school and setting goals for themselves. Above, Lt.
