Standing Guard to pay tribute to 9/11

The honor guard from the Kingsville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post stand guard before giving a 21-gun salute in the memory of those who died on September 11, 2001. City Council member Ann Marie Torres played a moving rendition of Taps afterwards.

Area first responders and a number of local leaders attended a moving September 11th Memorial Service on Saturday morning held at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville.

The Remembrance Ceremony featured speakers from NAS-Kingsville, area pastors, a message from Colonel John Hubert (the county attorney, retired), lots of special musical performances, and recognition of members of law enforcement, first responders and military present at the event.
