Bishop City Park

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday afternoon commemorating the official re-opening of a playground at Bishop City Park. City leaders, staff, and residents gathered to celebrate.

The City of Bishop held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, September 14 to commemorate the re-opening of the playground at Bishop City Park. Bishop residents, police, and city council members and staff gathered to celebrate the new equipment. Bishop Chamber of Commerce Director Judy Hubbard Gonzalez said the park is something positive for the community.

“The community had been asking for something for kids and the other one was very unsafe,” Hubbard Gonzalez said adding this was a project between the city council and the parks advisory board. The playground project cost was over $30,000. The original playground equipment had been around since 1997 and was worn and unsafe. “It had a bunch of exposed rusty bolts,” Bishop City Council Member Place 2 Bill Boswell said.
