Looking to earn a little extra money and have an impact on your community at the same time?

The U.S. Census Bureau wants your help.

The federal agency and Kleberg County officials are looking for individuals to serve as Census takers throughout this year to help ensure an accurate count. The position pays $18 an hour and offers flexible hours, weekly pay and paid training.

Applications can be submitted online at 2020census.gov/jobs. For more information and help on applying, text Velia Aparicio, recruiting assistant with the U.S. Census, at (361) 813-6143 or send an email to velia.r.aparicio@2020census.gov.

Census counts are highly important to counties and the cities they include, as they can be used to determine everything from representation at the local, state and federal level, as well as determine what type of federal funding for which communities can apply or receive.
