Cold as ice

Besides frozen and broken pipes, frigid temperatures, and power outages, area vegetation has suffered tremendously. These trees on King Street were covered in ice on Wednesday morning. For more photos, see our Kingsville Record Facebook page. 

An historic winter storm with subfreezing temperatures and numbing windchills have blasted the greater Kleberg County area for the past week.

Frozen and broken water pipes, lack of water, power outages and cancellations have been the rule of the week as area residents and businesses have tried to struggle with the powerful storm, the likes of which may have never been seen in Texas.
