Five H.M. King High School JROTC cadets participated in the annual Bataan Memorial Death March in Las Cruces, New Mexico on March 17. The Bataan Memorial Death March is held annually at the high desert terrain of the White Sands Missile Range in Las Cruces. It is conducted in honor of the service members who defended the Philippine Islands during World War II. H.M. King’s JROTC program has participated in the annual march for more than 15 years. The HMK JROTC team consisted of Cadet Major Leslie Rosales, Cadet 1SG Xavier Reeder, Cadet SGT Robert Murphy, Cadet PFC Tasi Guerrero, and Cadet PFC Jennyfer Proc, who ran 26.2 miles in 9 hours and 47 minutes.
