Rodolfo Ramirez

A 53-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he was allegedly caught burglarizing a home in Kingsville.

According to a press release issued by the Kingsville Police Department, a woman in a home in the 600 block of E. Kenedy Ave. phoned 9-1-1 to report that an unknown man had broken into her residence. The woman reportedly made the call while hiding in a locked room with her infant.

When officers arrived, they arrested Rodolfo Ramirez, 53. Ramirez allegedly had removed items from the residence and told officers he did not know anyone was inside when he broke in.

He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Kleberg County Jail. He was charged with burglary of a habitation, a second degree felony, and remained in the jail Wednesday on $25,000 bond set by Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Andy Gonzalez.
