Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid issued an order placing Kleberg County beaches under curfew effective at 11:59 p.m. tonight.

North Padre Island Beach will be under curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. every day until July 11 “unless extended, modified, amended, rescinded or superseded” by Madrid, according to the order.

The order states that from July 3 at 6 a.m. to July 7 at 6 a.m., North Padre Island Beach and parks will be closed to vehicle traffic.

Other vehicles in the order include golf cart and All-terrain vehicles.

Pedestrian access to both the beach and parks is permitted.

The order does not apply to Loyola Beach and Baffin Bay.

Copies of the order are included above.
