A Kingsville man has been arrested after shooting a teen in the chest, according to a press release from the Kingsville Police Department. Last week, Patrol officers from the KPD were dispatched to 304 Senator Carlos Truan Blvd. apartment C, in reference to multiple shots fired at about 11:05 p.m.
According to the release, bystanders rushed a 17-year-old to Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg after he suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest.
Patrol officers were able to detain the alleged shooter, Preston Garza, 17.
Garza was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Kleberg County Jail.
The victim is being treated for his injuries at Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline after being transported from Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg by Halo Flight.
The release states that the case is still under investigation.
