Police investigating double homicide

The Kingsville Police Department has identified the victims of last night's shooting as two brothers from Alice. According to a press release from the department, officers were called to the Utopian Apartments in the 1700 block of N. 1st St. around 8:30 p.m. last night.

Officers found a man who had been shot several times at the bottom of stairs of the "A" building.

Another man who had been shot multiple times was found inside apartment 2A. 

Both men were taken to Christus Spohn Hospital-Kleberg, where they died from their injuries. They were identified as brothers Adan Villarreal, 41, and Jose Villarreal, 37, both of Alice.

Several people have been interviewed, but no arrests have been made in the case.

(ORIGINAL STORY, May 13, 2019, 11:30 p.m.) Kingsville police are investigating reports of a shooting at an apartment complex on the north side of town, near Texas A&M University-Kingsville. 

University officials issued a safety advisory a short time ago that stated multiple gunshots were reported to police shortly before 8:30 p.m. tonight in the area of the Utopian Apartments, in the 1700 block of N. 1st St. The safety advisory said two men had been shot and two other men had fled the scene in a northeast direction. 

The two suspects are described as possible Hispanic males, with small build, one with long black hair wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt, the second with short hair, blue jeans and a white shirt. Officials with the police department are on scene and have confirmed they are investigating a double homicide.
