Rolando Molina, a music educator for over four decades, inspired and influenced his students to seek careers in that field. A testament to his influence is the fact that 70 former students now work as band directors, choir teachers, or music teachers in Texas and nationwide.  Molina became the first KISD Hispanic Band Director in 1983.

The Rolando Molina Fine Arts Center was named in his honor “for crafting an award-winning music program known statewide and for his dedication and positive influence over his many students.” The facility opened in 2012 at the HMK High School campus.
