Just under a 100 interested parents, teachers, school board members and administrators turned out for a KISD Town Hall held at the FEMA Domes last Thursday night to hear Superintendent Dr. Cissy Reynolds-Perez explain the financial dilemma the district finds itself in.

Perez informed the crowd the school district was still facing a $2 million shortfall in revenue. She and KISD CFO Dr. Peter Pitts explained the historic and financial reasons the district was in the red, then outlined what steps KISD intends to take in order to get itself out of the hole and back into the black.
