Tamalada Festival set for Sept. 24 at the Conner Museum

The Tamalada Festival will include tamale tasting, refreshments, music, loteria, storytelling, a boot contest and other activities. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 24 at Conner Museum and other TAMUK areas. Two blue and gold large tents will house some of the activities. The event is free to the public.

For many people making tamales is reminiscent of memorable family gatherings, sharing stories, jokes and laughter. Most tamales were made before the holidays especially at Christmas time.
