Abiola Dipeolu was awarded the National Career Development Association Outstanding Career Practitioner Award at its Annual Global Career Development Conference last month in Houston. The NCDA Outstanding Career Practitioner Award was established to recognize practicing career counselors and career service providers for outstanding performance and best practices in the day-to-day services they provide.

Dipeolu is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and Sociology at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Her research promotes innovative programming and evidence-based practices resulting in numerous publications in professional journals.

As one nominator wrote, “She exemplifies ‘energy’ and ‘enthusiasm’ in every project that she undertakes and this is where my enormous admiration comes. I began to read her research and found that she is always able to put the theory to practice. To spend time with her is to be energized tenfold.”

The NCDA provides professional development, publications, standards, and advocacy to practitioners and educators who inspire and empower individuals to achieve their career and life goals. The history of the NCDA began over 100 years ago with the founding of the National Vocational Guidance Association in 1913.
