Cynthia “Cyndi” Diane Shepard

Cynthia “Cyndi” Diane Shepard, of Kemah, was called to her Heavenly home on Sept. 26, 2019. She was born on June 17, 1948, in Kingsville to Edwin Frank Ryon, DDS, and Kathlyn Elaine Ryon, née Huddleston, with siblings, Rita Gay Ryon, Janice “Jan” Iréne Ryon, Ronald “Ronnie” Edwin Ryon and Judy Elaine Ryon.

Cyndi graduated from Kingsville High School in 1966. She received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in education from Texas A&M University. She taught in Texas for three years before moving to Atlanta, Ga. in 1973.

With her husband Robert “Bob” K. Shepard, Cyndi had two sons, Robert “Clark” Shepard in 1973 and Austin Ryon Shepard in 1977.

In 1985, Cyndi resumed her teaching career in Alice and Orange Grove until 1994. She taught in Pasadena until her retirement in 2013. Following her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering in the maternity ward at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center.
