Harvey Becker passed away in Kingsville, Texas early Sunday morning, Aug. 15, 2021, at the age of 82; one month before his 83rd birthday. He was born in Thorndale, Texas, on Sept. 15, 1938, to Howard W. Becker and Ruby Meissner Becker at their home. The family moved to Bishop, Texas, where Harvey attended St. Paul Lutheran School and graduated from Bishop High School in 1956. He was employed by Arthur Brothers and Celanese Bishop Plant for 38 years; retiring in 1999.
On July 7, 1962, he married Jan Ryon and for 59 years they lived in Kingsville, where they raised their three children. Harvey loved fishing, hunting, and spent many of his retired years enjoying his house on Baffin Bay with his family and friends. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his only brother, Glenn E. Becker.
Among those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jan Becker; children, Craig Becker (Missy), Jena Hunter (Lloyd), and Ross Becker (Richelle); grandchildren, Ryon Becker (Kristina), Katie Becker Blinka (Skyler), Morgan Hunter Maldonado (AJ), Sarita Hunter, Zachary Hunter, Calah Becker Murillo-King (David), and Caleb Becker; great-grandson, Micah Maldonado; a very special cousin, Cookie Davis Johnsey; numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
A private burial will take place Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at Concordia Cemetery in Bishop.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kingsville.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kingsville.
