Herman R. Cruz

Herman R. Cruz, 93, died Dec. 30, 2019 in Corpus Christi at the age of 93.

He was born on April 20, 1926 in Brownsville to Ruperto & Victoria Cruz.

He was a World War II Veteran who served in the U.S. Army as a private stationed in Panama from 1945 – 1946. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kingsville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva H. Cruz, and daughter, Esther Cruz. 

Survivors include three daughters, Maggie Nobbie, Anita Garcia (Joe) and Norma Moralez; four sons, Herman Cruz Jr. (Irene), Rene Cruz (MaryJane), Hector David Cruz (Susie) and Jose Santiago Cruz (Gloria); and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation was held at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home in Kingsville on  Sunday, Jan. 5, at 5 p.m. Rosary followed that same evening, with Deacon Costly presiding. 

Funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kingsville, with Father Paulsen officiating on Monday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m. 

Burial followed at Rest Haven Cemetery in Kingsville.

Arrangements under the direction of  Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.
