Irma DeLaPaz Olivarez, 80, went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2021. She was born on August 6, 1940 in Kingsville, TX to Conrado & Petra DeLaPaz.
Irma worked for K.I.S.D for many years before retiring. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Conrado and Petra DeLaPaz, brother, Conrado DeLaPaz Jr. son, Alex Olivarez Jr., and granddaughter Faith Odom.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Alejandro Olivarez, daughters Belinda (Eddie) Perez, Jackie Odom (Robert), Daughter in law Dee (Alex) Olivarez, granddaughters; Erica, Candice, Stephanie (Chris), Grandsons; Omar (Kalie), Austin, Adam and Noah, Great-grandchildren Dylan Harper, and Ezra. Sisters; Dora (Israel) Gonzalez and Angelica (Ascencio) Barrera. Numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own.
Irma will always be remembered as a strong woman of faith and her deep devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a member of King’s Way Church for many years. She loved cooking and was a legend in the kitchen. Everyone loved her incredible homemade meals which she always put so much love and effort into. Irma enjoyed camping. Garner State Park will always hold many precious memories for her family.
Spending time and talking with her family and friends brought her so much joy. Her conversations of wisdom and faith, her beautiful smile, laughter and guidance will be deeply missed by everyone that was blessed to have known her.
Irma leaves an array of treasured memories which will always be in our hearts. Her commitment and love for her family and friends was unconditional, she was a beautiful soul that touched the lives of so many. God brought her home and we are eternally grateful for blessing us with the cherished time we did have with Irma .
