James Michael Lerma

James Michael Lerma, 45, of KingsvilleĀ  died on Jan. 18, 2020. He was born on April 25, 1974 in Kingsville to Juan Manuel Lerma and Irma Bustamante Lerma.

Mr. Lerma worked as a cook for Aramark for 16 years and for multiple restaurants throughout the Kingsville community. He was a passionate and talented drummer and lover of music. He brought joy to many by playing drums with many local Tejano, rock and metal groups. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and a loyal friend. He will be missed dearly by all.

He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Lerma Sr.; his uncle, Jesse Lerma; and his grandmother, Genoveva Lerma.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Elizabeth Anderson Lerma; his mother, Irma B. Lerma, his three daughters, Jennifer Camacho, Abigail Elaine Lerma and Serena Simone Lerma, and four grandchildren, Zanna Hazel Dibler, Nevaeh Jaylynn Martinez, Davidlee Longoria Jr. and Arturo Domingo Longoria.

Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Jan. 25, 2020 at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with a prayer service at 10 a.m. that same morning. Interment to follow at the Resthaven Cemetery.
