Juanita Rozelle Ward

Juanita Rozelle Ward, 92, of Bishop passed away peacefully from this life on March 19, 2019. Juanita was born on July 23, 1926 in Glen Rose to Charles Robert and Anne Jewel Rozelle.  Upon graduation from Glen Rose, she was employed by WFAA radio station in Dallas.  Juanita married Dupont Ward on Dec. 6, 1947. After marriage, she and Dupont relocated to Bishop, where they owned and operated Ward’s Cleaners for 25 years.  She also worked for Nueces County Justice of the Peace for 15 years until her retirement.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Dupont; her sister, Martha Winslow; and her son-in-law, Robert Batey.

She is survived by her brother, Wendell Rozelle and wife, Jo; her sister, Sue Hughes; two daughters, Nancy Batey and Susan Skrobarczyk and husband, Donnie; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was a big enthusiast of Starbucks coffee, garage sales with her best friend, Reba Staff, traveling with her sister, Sue and spending time with her family.

We especially want to thank Janie Salazar for her care and special friendship to our mother.

A memorial service will be held in Glen Rose at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Association National Center, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas, 75231 or a charity of your choice.
