Lydia R. Parras, 73, passed away on Nov. 29, 2019 in Corpus Christi. She was born on Jan. 12, 1946 in Bishop to Julio Reyna and Tomasita Rodriguez Reyna. She was a great cook and was known for her tamales. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Christobal Parras Sr., and her son, Mark A. Parras.
Lydia is survived by her companion of 33 years, Hector De Luna of Bishop; her children, Flory Rivera (Jimmy Rivera) of Bishop, Christobal (Dina) Parras Jr. of Edinburg, Robert (Virginia) Parras of Ricardo and Julie Parras of Albuquerque, N.M.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, with a Holy Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, Dec. 2, 2019 at 2 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. James Catholic Cemetery.
Services were entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd. Kingsville, Texas 78363.
