Rene Rodriguez

Rene Rodriguez, 41, passed away Sept. 9, 2019 in Corpus Christi.  He was born Sept. 5, 1978 in Kingsville to Tomas and Nelda Rodriguez.

Rene had a strong work ethic. He was self-employed and worked in various fields, including electrical, plumbing and carpentry. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and will forever be remembered for his love of Tejano music, his love of being around his friends and his unconditional love for his family.         

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Nelda Rodriguez; maternal grandparents, Rene and Elodia Hinojosa; and paternal grandparents, Teodoro and San Juana Rodriguez.  

He is survived by two brothers, Tomas Rodriguez (Marisa) and Johnny Rodriguez, both of Zapata; sister, Patricia Hernandez (Adriel) of Corpus Christi; one niece, Celest N. Aguirre; three nephews, Gilbert Aguirre III, A.J. Hernandez and Justin Hernandez; one great-niece, Milabela Garza; one great-nephew, Greson P. Hinojosa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  

Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel in Alice, with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. that evening, followed by a funeral service. Services to conclude in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the funeral home.
