Rodolfo Edgardo Ramos, 75, passed away on Dec. 25, 2020 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on Dec. 25, 1945 in Hebbronville, Texas to Ignacio Ramos and Ausencia Montalvo Ramos.
He attended Texas A&I University and earned a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Arts/Education and a Master’s Degree in Education. He served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Hancock during the Vietnam War.
He taught one year at Driscoll Junior High in Corpus Christi, Tx but decided to work at his family business Ramos Refrigeration and A/C, which was started in 1942 by his father Ignacio Ramos.
Rodolfo worked alongside his son Rudy Jr. and daughter Mari as owner until his passing. Rodolfo was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree and 4th degree #2623 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
In his past time, he enjoyed hunting in Hebbronville, Tx with his children, cousins, and friends. He also had the opportunity to travel to South Africa and experienced seeing the wildlife firsthand. Fishing was his other form of passing the time whenever he could get away for the day.
He was preceded in death by both his parents.
Rodolfo is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diana Musquiz Ramos of Kingsville, Texas; son, Rudy Ramos Jr. of Kingsville, Texas; daughter, Mari (Richard) Russell of Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers, Ignacio (Lydia) Ramos Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas and Alfonso (Evanita) Ramos of Kingsville, Texas; four grandchildren, Kylie Russell, Kendall Russell, Kasey Russell, and Karter Russell of Corpus Christi, Texas; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, with the Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 at Our Lady of Good Counsel.
Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Morales, Christus Spohn Shoreline doctors and Nurse Hannah and Nurse Karen in the 4th floor ICU for the compassion and care that was given to him while he was there.
