The family of Veronica J. (Tellez) Arnold, a native of Kingsville and longtime resident, will hold a private burial ceremony on Sept. 11, 2021 for the interment of her ashes in the family cemetery plot. Her funeral had been delayed due to COVID restrictions at the time of her death on April 18, 2020.
Veronica passed away in Corpus Christi after an ongoing illness. She was 67 years old and had been living in Corpus Christi for several years. She is survived by many family members including the following: her only sister, Thelma (Tellez) Reyna, resident of Pasadena, CA; brother Raul C. Tellez, from El Paso; brother Oscar J. Tellez, from Weatherford, TX; and three brothers in Corpus Christi, Victor C. Tellez, Donald L. Tellez and Edgar N. Tellez. Veronica had a large extended family including many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews from throughout Texas and some in California and Chicago.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Jesus A. Tellez and Daniel Tellez. Also, her mother, Mary G. Ruth; stepfather, Carl W. Ruth; and maternal grandparents, Jose and Maria Guerra, all from Kingsville.
Veronica will be fondly remembered for her kind heart and courage in battling illness. She endured many hardships in her life, but she was determined to overcome any adversity she faced. She was loyal and of deep Christian faith. She loved surrounding herself with flowers, photos, a lovely home environment, memorabilia, and collectibles given to her by friends.
She enjoyed fashion, jewelry, and going out to restaurants, relishing the presence of others. She took pride in dressing up for any outing and was always stylish and beautiful.
Her sense of humor, darling dimples and hearty laugh endeared her to many, and her presence will be sorely missed. She was brave in spirit till the end.
