To the Editor,

Texas eased restrictions on visitation in long-term care facilities, but many families remain unsure if they will be allowed to visit. For those cut off from their loved ones for almost five months, isolation is becoming another very real threat. The policies impacting these residents can cause addition comorbidities on top of the mental health concerns. Instead of using a ‘blanket policy’ there should be a case by case basis to allow visitors with the proper Covid precautions.
