(Editor’s note: The following Letter to the Editor was received in response to the article “Sarita man killed in boating accident on Lake LBJ,” from our July 18, 2019 edition.)

Sir,

Does it make you feel good to know you hurt so many people with your article? Marc (Estes) was a good man. His wife of 25 years and five children are broken and hurting and you poured salt into that wound. Not once in your article did you mention the many, many good things Marc did in his short time on earth. How dare you. He was a leader in this community who was loved by so many people all around the world. His kindness and love for his family and everyone he met was greater than any wrong doings he may have done. Did you know he was on the board for a non-profit in Haiti?

Where by the way, he adopted his youngest son from, whom he fell in love with on one of his many mission trips there. Or his two middle sons from Korea? Or that he coached his daughter’s KYPL softball team? I can go on and on about the good he did. But you didn’t bother to learn any of that did you? I hope not, because if you did and you still thought to write only the bad... well then shame on you.
