H.M. King High School held its second session for its annual summer tennis camp and concluded with a tournament for all participants.
The three-week tennis camp instructed participants on all tennis strokes with various drills and match play.
“The kids did a great job on adjusting to hot conditions and putting effort on improving their tennis game,” H.M. King tennis coach Ed Gonzales said.
The camp ended with a tournament, and individual awards were handed out to the winners.
In beginner junior doubles, Sebastian Rivera and Wyatt Brennan took first place in the tournament, with Tori Hickman and Myra Keral taking second.
In the older bracket for beginner doubles, Jordan Villarreal and Brody Determan won first place over Karlie Heras and Kaydence Schroeder, who placed second.
In third place was Riley Kinsel and Joseph Vilches, and Evangeline Jones and Sophia Rivera took fourth place.
Sophia Prado and Miley Brennan won first in the consolation bracket to round out the awards for the beginners doubles tournament.
In the intermediate boys singles tournament, Brayden Schroeder was the victor, taking first over Jarrett Rojas, who placed second. Porter Witt finished third and Lucas Cardenas came in fourth place. Nathan Guerra won first in the consolation bracket for the intermediate boys singles.
In the girls advanced singles, Starr Gomez was the first place victor of the tournament. Kyrie Lozano finished second, Zoey Fuentes took third and Savanah Gomez placed fourth.
Allison Salinas took first place in the consolation bracket.
In the advanced boys singles, Daniel Hickman won first place over Greg Zapata.
In third place was Derick Hickman, and Dylan Guerra took first place in the consolation bracket.
