SGA girls take second in district

The Santa Gertrudis Academy Lady Lions locked up a second place finish in the District 31-3A standings on Tuesday, after they defeated the San Diego Lady Vaqueros in straight sets, 25-10, 25-9 and 25-15.

The Lady Lions finished the regular season with an 8-4 record in district play. SGA will face Lyford with their first matchup of the playoffs on Monday, with a time and place to be determined.

The Bishop Lady Badgers also won their matchup against Falfurrias on Tuesday night, 3-1, to earn the third spot in the district standings. The Lady Badgers will be facing Santa Rosa on Tuesday in their first playoff contest. The location and and time are to be determined.
